Land Surface Temperature (LST) and Land Use/Cover (LUC) for Urban Heat Island (UHI) Analysis in Cebu City, Philippines

The objective of this study is to evaluate the data of Land Use/Cover (LUC) and Land Surface Temperature (LST) responsible for causing Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect. The study on the land surface temperature of Cebu City, a fast growing and well-planned example of industrial city will be carried out using the satellite data collected over the years from 2018-2023. Mapping of these urban mass in correlation to open spaces based on the patterns of urban development and land surface temperature will give an understanding of the microclimate and its effect on the environment.

Phytochemicals of Euphorbia tirucalli and Their Inhibitory Potential Against Xanthomonas oryzae Ddl Enzyme: An In silico Evaluation for Potential Agrochemical

Conducted a molecular docking of 8 (eight) phytochemicals from Euphorbia tirucalli onto the Xanthomonas oryzae Ddl enzyme and evaluated their drug-likeness and toxicity risk. For the methodology, I acquired the appropriate structure data files of the proteins and ligands from databases such as PubChem and RCSB Protein Data Bank. To enhance efficiency, I utilized molecular docking softwares and web-based interfaces such as AutoDock Vina, Avogadro, PyMol, LigPlot, SwissAdme, and Osiris Property Explorer. The study revealed that Afzelin is a potential Xanthomonas oryzae Ddl enzyme inhibitor with strong binding energy, drug-likeness, and no toxicity risks.

VibroWake: Drowsy Detection System through Photoplethysmography

Repository

Fabricated a drowsiness detection system embedded in a watch-like device through photoplethysmography technology. We the researchers assessed the accuracy of heart beat detection by comparing our device to a standard pulse oximeter. The study revealed that VibroWake has an accuracy of 90.92% against the standard pulse oximeter in terms of heart rate detection during different conditions such as sleeping, resting, and during motion.
